Netted lo res

In post-apocalyptic Maine, safety is the highest priority. Every citizen is Netted, their thoughts monitored for homicidal, lawless impulses. But being Netted can cause as many problems as it solves.

Years after everyone thought they'd died, a young family are discovered, safe and sound, living in the wilderness. As their delighted relations race to pick them up, Boyce is overwhelmed with relief that the daily battle to keep their small son, Hardy, safe has been lifted from his shoulders.

His wife, Kris, dreads returning to the settlement where she was born and raised. Her mental powers make living among others difficult, even dangerous, but even she is unprepared for the catastrophic events that follows.
Safety comes at a price.

Being the shallow sort, it was both the title and the quirky title that snagged my attention – and the fact that I’m still suffering from a massive book hangover from Juno Dawson’s awesome witchy series – see my reviews for Her Majesty’s Royal Coven and The Shadow Cabinet. This is part of the weekly meme over at the Caffeinated Reviewer, where book bloggers can share the books they’ve read and share what they have got up to during the last week. We’re still coming to terms with an Ethan-free home, but he seems to be settling in well to university life. We’ve had a series of hilarious pics of him with friends and he even tackled his laundry yesterday. My favourite photo is the one of him at the top of the university climbing wall.

22 September 2023

And it was some time after that before I was convinced I’d recover sufficiently to resume my writing career.
So this announcement is very special – at long last, Flame & Blame is ready for publication – on 24th October for the paperback and 31st October for the ebook.

SUNDAY POST – 17 September 2023

This is part of the weekly meme over at the Caffeinated Reviewer, where book bloggers can share the books they’ve read and share what they have got up to during the last week. Well, Ethan’s now at university – and I’m shocked at just how MUCH I’m missing him. We all are – but then, we only took him up there yesterday and the last week has been a blur of packing and sorting out various admin necessary for a young adult leaving home. I’ve heard from him and he’s okay. He likes the food in the cafeteria and isn’t impressed at the icy shower he had this morning…
