As I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed Palmer’s wonderful Ode to the Half-Broken, I recalled I had a review I’d written back when I was listening to this entertaining space opera adventure series. See my review of the first book, Finder. This is my take on the second book – and icing on the cake was that Paul Woodson narrated this one, too. As I thoroughly enjoyed his depiction of Fergus in the first book, I was really pleased he would also be delivering this story.

This is part of the weekly, or fortnightly meme over at the Caffeinated Reviewer, where book bloggers can share the books they’ve read and share what they have got up to during the last week.
We are once again in the middle of a heatwave, though here on the south coast it hasn’t been as brutal as the one a fortnight ago. And we haven’t had any rain at all this month. To be honest, that’s a blessing as our garden would become a muddy hell. Our lawn – such as it was – is now scuffed, sorry mess of dirt and building detritus. The good news? Our bathroom is now finished. After the mouldy ceilings and wobbly floors we’d been enduring, having a shiny new bathroom with lots of cupboard space is a total joy. I’m afraid I’ve inflicted the pics on you below. We’re currently also recovering from having the footpath around the house completely replaced over this last week. It wasn’t built to take the weight of cars and as a result had become a broken, weedy trip hazard. The chaps came to redo it yesterday. And yes… I know concrete isn’t remotely environmentally friendly – but the rest of the hard standing is concrete and ripping that up and replacing it with something else would be both costly and unnecessary as it is perfectly fine.
